Eileen's brother Jim and Helena visited in April giving me an opportunity to find new stuff in Myvatn and around "my" fjord
Church and turf house near Grenivik
Brunch at Lyst in the botanic gardens
River along the rift between North America and Europe, in a cave near Myvatn
Almost as soon as I got to Akureyri Caroline, a friend from my 20s in Sale and 30s In London, visited.
We went whale watching, found several but got close to none.
We found this wonderful cave at Myvatn.
While nothing was open on Hrisey, we found the 3 brothers cafe in Dalvik which had the best fish soup!
This too on Hrisey Island, which didn't open until June apparently!
On the winter tour from infront of the art museum
Akureyri Concert Hall
Having walked up the Glerá, (the "á" means river), I found my way back to town overland, not quite breaking a new trail, but almost! Slow going in deep snow!
Jim and Helena in Ólafsfjörður, just opposite Cafe Klara, which had the best cakes and coffee for miles around!
Akureyri has some fine eateries as well as decent relatively inexpensive eats
Finished with a picturesque view and desert!
